Mom the fighter continues. I arrived this morning, and my brother and father were here. My father was looking a big ragged, but I guess he got about 5 hours of sleep last night. My brother has now taken him home, so I’m alone here with Mom for about a 1/2 hour. My sister is at home getting things done there, and hopefully Dad will get about 4 or so hours of sleep and a shower.
Mom is now on a morphine pump, so she’s getting automatic pain meds. She had a doctor’s prescription for a shot every 1/2 hour, but this way it will be automatic. She’s also been getting some anti-seizure drugs as they think she’s been having seizures also. She’s now been off fluids for about 48 hours, and hasn’t had anything to eat or other nourishment since Saturday morning. Supposedly, a body can really only last without fluids for 2-3 days, so we’re assuming that the end should be soon. But Mom has a ferocious will to live, and we’ve been thinking that she wouldn’t be here now. Her doctors have been surprised that she’s been around for the past year given all she been through.
Thank you for all the support. I will personally welcome anyone who wants to come over tonight after 8 p.m. to just bring some food over to my place (vegetarian-no egg please) to have what I’m calling “hug shiva” where friends just come over and hug. I could use that tonight! I’ll claim the leftovers so I have something to eat. If you have the availability to go to Trader Joe’s and pick me up a few things, let me
