In what has become a tradition in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood, musicians on traditional instruments gather on selected Thursdays in June, July, and August to play music for their own enjoyment and the pleasure of anyone who cares to stop and listen. There is no charge, and all who wish to play or listen are welcome to bring their chairs and enjoy being together. We tend to play jigs, reels and waltzes in the New England Contra Dance Music tradition.
We meet on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:55 p.m. (conveniently before the contra dances at the VFW) to play traditional music on acoustic instruments. There's no electricity available, so bring your instrument, a chair if you have it, and come and join us. All players welcome. In case of rain, we will move inside. We'll have iced tea, and other donations of drink and food are welcome. The schedule for the 2005 Front Porch Jam series is:
